PR Manager (UK & South Africa) & Copywriter

About the role

Our client in the hospitality and travel sector is looking for a dynamic PR Manager (UK & South Africa) who will also take charge of copywriting. The role is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town and operates on a hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual PR strategy for the UK and South African markets.
• Manage the UK PR agency and oversee media relations across both regions.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts to secure A‑list coverage.
• Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs, and marketing collateral.
• Identify newsworthy stories and craft innovative content angles.
• Coordinate media bookings, press trips, interviews, and award submissions.
• Produce monthly PR performance reports.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or PR Communications.
• Minimum 10 years of corporate communications or public relations experience.
• At least 3 years in the travel or conservation tourism sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven media‑relations expertise and ability to build industry networks.
• Excellent organisational skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
