Portfolio Manager Assistant (Stellenbosch)

About the role

Sanlam Private Wealth, part of the Sanlam Investment Group, creates customised investment portfolios for high‑net‑worth clients. The Portfolio Manager Assistant supports portfolio managers in delivering seamless service to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client, intermediary and third‑party queries, processing requests such as portfolio queries, tax reports and fee inquiries.
• Collate corporate actions, private placements, client payment information, share transfer details and cash journal data.
• Screen new clients against sanction lists, gather onboarding documents and verify FICA information.
• Submit cash receipts, trade allocations and monthly management fee reports to the Central Admin Hub.
• Maintain the portfolio manager’s diary, prepare meeting information packs and monitor safe‑custody fees.

Required profile

• Experience in the private wealth or stock‑broking industry.
• Bachelor of Commerce degree (registered person exam advantageous).
• High level of accuracy, strong numerical orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with critical and analytical capability.
• Pro‑active, customer‑focused attitude with learning agility.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Working knowledge of financial systems.
• Working knowledge of BDA (Banking Data Application).
