Plumbing Operations Manager

About the role

The Plumbing Operations Manager will lead our specialised leak‑detection and pipe‑relining teams in Johannesburg. You will ensure field technicians have the right tools, routes and support to deliver high‑quality plumbing services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day field operations for plumbing and leak‑detection teams.
• Allocate jobs, plan routes and schedules, and ensure technicians arrive on time.
• Monitor job progress, handle operational issues, and liaise with customers on technical matters.
• Assess jobs before dispatch, determine required equipment and personnel, and ensure proper equipment allocation.
• Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance, returns, and accountability.
• Review technician reports, verify completed work, and ensure documentation and photos are submitted.
• Coordinate return visits, subcontractors, and supplier interactions.
• Assist with technical quotations and support management on complex jobs.
• Track job profitability, identify inefficiencies, and improve processes.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, monitor workmanship quality, and enforce health‑and‑safety standards.
• Handle customer complaints and maintain professional standards.

Required profile

• Qualified plumber.
• Proven experience in operations within a plumbing environment.
