Planned Maintenance Foreman

About the role

Our client, a well‑established mining operation based in Limpopo South, is seeking an experienced Planned Maintenance Foreman to join the Engineering Department. Reporting to the Section Engineer, you will plan, coordinate and implement all planned maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and ensure statutory compliance across mining and plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventative and planned maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, TMM and plant equipment.
• Schedule work orders and monitor execution through SAP.
• Monitor equipment reliability, utilisation and availability.
• Ensure critical spares are available and effectively managed.
• Conduct equipment inspections and provide technical feedback.
• Compile maintenance reports and analyse performance.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and contractor performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Relevant Trade Test (Mechanical or Electrical) and at least 5 years SAP maintenance planning experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of mining legislation and Health & Safety requirements.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and computer literacy (MS Office).

Required skills

• SAP (maintenance planning module).
• MS Project or similar planning software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
