Phlebotomy Technician – Gatesville (Cape Town)

About the role

An opportunity exists for a Phlebotomy Technician to join the team at our Gatesville branch in Cape Town. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of competence in phlebotomy, high ethics, and alignment with PathCare values.

Required profile

• Phlebotomy Technician qualification and registration with HPCSA
• Valid Code B driver’s licence (manual transmission)
• Client‑focused with excellent attention to detail
• Adaptable and able to work cooperatively within a team
• Initiative, problem‑solving and result‑orientated
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, empathy and stress resistance
• Positive attitude and flexible work‑style
• Fluent in English with an understanding of Afrikaans
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Required skills

• Phlebotomy experience (essential)
• Pathology experience, including order of draw
• Operating point‑of‑care instruments such as Hemocue and Stratus
• Running arterial blood gas analyses on dedicated machines
• Computer literacy, Meditech knowledge advantageous
