Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About the role

Join Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice and work in a patient‑centric environment where you will interact directly with customers, process prescriptions, and develop strong relationships while earning a nationally recognized credential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision with dispensing medications and other pharmacy duties.
• Use pharmacy computer systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately.
• Operate pharmacy cash registers and handle transactions.
• Provide a distinctive, friendly customer experience by greeting patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Coach and support fellow technicians when PTCB certified, sharing best practices.
• Follow all state, federal, and Walgreens policies, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; willingness to pursue PTCB certification.
• Ability to work under pharmacist supervision and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Strong interest in healthcare and customer service.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and prescription processing software.
• Cash register operation.
• Basic knowledge of medication dispensing procedures.
