Pharmacy Sales Representative – Pretoria West

About the role

Abbott is seeking a proactive Pharmacy Sales Representative to cover the Pretoria West region within its Established Pharmaceutical Division. The role focuses on promoting Abbott’s portfolio of branded generic medicines across therapeutic areas such as gastro‑enterology, women’s health, cardiometabolic, pain management, CNS and respiratory.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to meet or exceed sales, market share and growth targets.
• Maintain regular customer visits, ensuring optimal call rate, strike rate and coverage of the assigned area.
• Identify new business opportunities and negotiate additional display space in pharmacies.
• Manage in‑store stock using pharmacy stock cards, build appealing product displays and ensure FIFO merchandising.
• Provide product training and detailed information to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Compile and update the regional sales operating plan and attend relevant meetings and conferences.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy sales experience within the Pretoria West region.
• Established relationships with pharmacy decision‑makers and a proven track record of territory coverage in Johannesburg/Pretoria.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and business‑planning abilities.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with integrity, initiative and adaptability.
