Pharmacy Porter – Life Flora Hospital

About the role

The Pharmacy Porter will support the Senior Pharmacist at Life Flora Hospital by ensuring the efficient flow of medication and related stock to all wards and theatres. This onsite role is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care and pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and record all prescription cards, credits and requisitions from hospital wards.
• Safely and timely deliver ethical and surgical stock to wards.
• Receive, unpack and verify stock against invoices.
• Assist with lifting, picking and distributing stock/boxes to wards and theatres.
• Systematically check expiry dates and perform stock rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy area.
• Participate in stock takes and cycle counts.
• Reconcile proof of delivery with internal ward orders and invoices.
• Perform general administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Willingness to work shifts, after‑hours and weekends.
• Computer proficiency, especially MS Office.
• Relevant experience in a hospital pharmacy environment.
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Understanding of the private healthcare sector is beneficial.
