About the role
The pharmacy field representative is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with pharmacy customers, delivering high-quality service, and supporting company programs in the field. The specialist works closely with internal teams to address customer needs, resolve issues and drive business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmacy customers through regular engagement.
- Identify, sign up and onboard new pharmacy customers to support network growth.
- Support implementation and ongoing adoption of pharmacy programs and business solutions.
- Conduct scheduled field visits to understand customer needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Execute consistent, high-quality service delivery during all customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards by conducting routine checks and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Capture and maintain all customer activities, interactions and follow‑ups in CRM systems.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, coordinating with internal teams and escalating when required.
- Plan and manage visit schedules effectively to meet defined activity and performance targets.
- Utilise sales tools, systems and marketing materials to support customer engagement and business growth.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, services and market developments.
Required profile
- Pharmacist's Assistant (NQF Level 4‑5) from a SAPC accredited provider.
- Minimum 5 years pharmacy‑related experience (retail or hospital) or related business experience.
- Demonstrable B2B business development experience.
- Knowledge of the life‑science/pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across multiple field sales organisations.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office suite).
- Focus and commitment on assigned targets.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data from various sources.
- Positive, energetic, flexible and supportive attitude.
- Capability to manage conflict resolution.
- Ability to travel with own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
- Access to a reliable internet connection at home.
