Pharmacist – Talent Pipeline (Noordhoek)

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is expanding its talent pipeline for qualified pharmacists in the Noordhoek area of Cape Town. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients receive safe and effective medication therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' medication needs, evaluate therapy safety and effectiveness.
• Dispense medicines and scheduled substances according to authorised prescriptions.
• Review and sign‑off prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns, assuming full accountability.
• Provide medication information and counselling to patients.
• Monitor patient compliance and conduct follow‑up to meet therapy goals.
• Participate in compounding, preparation, and supervision of medicines.
• Support purchasing, storage, and distribution processes for pharmaceutical products.
• Assist with registration applications and contribute to pharmaceutical research and public health initiatives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• 2–3 years of pharmaceutical experience, including retail pharmacy exposure.
• Computer literate – proficient with MS Office.
• Advantageous: retail/FMCG experience, third language, SAP, e‑scripting, registered tutor, Unisolv experience.
