Pharmacist – Sea Point Retail Pharmacy

About the role

Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join its Sea Point store in Cape Town. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients receive safe and effective medication therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' medication needs, assess safety and effectiveness of therapy.
• Dispense medicines and scheduled substances according to authorised prescriptions.
• Review and sign‑off prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns, assuming full accountability.
• Provide medication information and advice to patients and the public.
• Monitor patient compliance and conduct follow‑up to meet therapy goals.
• Participate in compounding, preparation, and supervision of medicines.
• Support purchasing, storage, and distribution processes for pharmaceutical products.
• Assist with registration applications and contribute to pharmaceutical research and public health initiatives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric and a BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• 2–3 years of retail pharmacy experience (including student/intern experience).

Required skills

• Computer literate – proficient with MS Office.
• Experience with SAP systems.
• E‑scripting experience.
• Familiarity with Unisolv software.
