Pharmacist – Jean Avenue

About the role

Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified pharmacist to join its Jean Avenue store in Centurion. You will be responsible for safe dispensing of medicines, providing expert advice to patients and healthcare professionals, and supporting the pharmacy’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medication under direct supervision, verify prescriptions, and ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling and patient counselling.
• Provide customer service at the dispensary, self‑medication counter and front‑shop, including explaining medical aid costs.
• Process paperwork for medical aid claims, correct rejected scripts, and manage authorisations for chronic, HIV/AIDS and oncology medications.
• Maintain and merge customer profiles, monitor stock levels, report shortages and assist with bi‑annual stock takes.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric and a BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• 2–3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Computer literate, proficient in MS Office.
• Advantageous: experience in retail/FMCG, additional language, SAP, e‑scripting, registered tutor, Unisolv experience.
