Periodic Reviews Officer

About the role

Liberty is looking for a diligent Periodic Reviews Officer to join its Personal and Private Banking division in Johannesburg on a nine‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is central to maintaining regulatory compliance and safeguarding the organisation against financial crime.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed periodic KYC reviews of customer files, verifying identity and assessing risk profiles.
• Request, follow up, and manage outstanding documentation to complete client profiles.
• Update and maintain customer information in internal systems, ensuring data integrity.
• Ensure review processes comply with internal policies and South African regulatory requirements.
• Resolve KYC‑related queries from internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Monitor service level agreements, track case progress and meet established deadlines.
• Maintain accurate statistics, records and reports of review activities.
• Provide quality assurance by reviewing work of other analysts where needed.
• Maintain audit trails for all client review actions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• 2–3 years experience in AML, KYC, CDD or EDD within the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of KYC principles and South African regulatory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and adhere to strict timeframes.
