About the role
TB HIV Care (THC) is an internationally recognised non‑profit providing health care services across South Africa, especially to communities at increased risk for HIV and TB. The Peer Educator is a trusted community member who delivers targeted HIV prevention, treatment literacy and referral services to people who use drugs (PWID) within safe spaces and biomedical services.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted HIV prevention, treatment literacy, and referral services to PWID.
- Provide psycho‑social support and connect clients to biomedical services.
- Promote community empowerment, harm reduction, and gender equality.
- Protect human rights within key‑population‑friendly health and social services.
