Payroll Tax Administrator

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing global workforce solutions business, is looking for a highly analytical Payroll Tax Administrator to join their Johannesburg team. The role focuses on ensuring accurate payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions within a global Employer of Record model.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and process payroll tax for several countries, adhering to local regulations.
• Prepare, review and submit monthly and annual payroll tax filings.
• Investigate and resolve tax discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and statutory contributions.
• Monitor legislative changes and update compliance procedures.
• Liaise with in‑country stakeholders to answer tax queries.
• Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
• Assist with ad‑hoc tax and compliance tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Tax or a related field.
• Proven experience in payroll and/or tax administration in multi‑jurisdictional or cross‑border environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage payroll tax submissions and compliance processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines across multiple time zones.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, nested IF statements, reconciliations).
