About the role
Old Mutual is seeking a hands‑on leader to own the Payroll & Section 13A function in a highly regulated environment. You will ensure accurate contributions, payroll data, and statutory submissions while driving operational excellence and leading a high‑performing team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead compliance delivery for all Section 13A requirements, guaranteeing timely and accurate submissions.
- Own regulatory processes such as SAPS lodgments, PFA matters, FSCA reporting, and Section 13A liquidations.
- Manage daily operations to improve turnaround times and maintain service levels.
- Drive audit readiness and risk control through robust record‑keeping and monitoring.
- Coach, mentor and develop the team to achieve consistent, high‑quality results.
- Build strong relationships with employers, service providers, internal teams and regulators to resolve issues quickly.
Required profile
- Matric/Grade 12; a relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage.
- Experience in compliance, reporting or a regulated operational environment.
- Proven people‑leadership experience with strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
