Part-time Lecturer – Conversational Sign Language

About the role

STADIO is seeking a part‑time Lecturer to teach Conversational Sign Language to BEd students at its Centurion Contact Learning Campus. The appointment is fixed‑term for the second semester of the 2026 academic year and involves on‑site teaching, assessment and academic support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two weekly contact‑learning classes in Conversational Sign Language for Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase BEd programmes.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Develop and maintain module content using the institution’s Learning Management System.
• Contribute to curriculum design, review and the creation of learning materials.
• Perform internal moderation duties to ensure academic integrity and compliance.
• Provide academic support and clear communication to students and staff.
• Participate in meetings, workshops and relevant committees.
• Carry out administrative tasks in line with institutional policies and SOPs.

Required profile

• Proven teaching and assessment experience, preferably in Sign Language or related education.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills with the capacity to meet deadlines under pressure.
• High level of computer literacy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems.
• Computer literacy for content creation and administrative tasks.
