Part-Time Financial Controller (Remote, 15-20 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Financial Controller to work remotely on a part‑time basis (15‑20 hours per week, flexible). You will own the day‑to‑day finance function, provide actionable insights, and act as a trusted financial partner to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue client quotations and invoices.
• Process supplier invoices and expenses accurately.
• Monitor debtor collections, protect cash flow and maintain financial records.
• Act as the primary liaison with our external accountant, ensuring timely submission of bank statements, receipts and supporting documentation.
• Prepare month‑end financial packs and meet all reporting deadlines.
• Complete monthly reconciliations, review revenue, expenditure and gross profit.
• Analyse project and client profitability, compare actual spend against budget and identify overspending.
• Forecast cash flow, highlight financial risks and provide commentary with recommendations.
• Produce executive finance reports covering revenue, profit, operating expenses, cash flow, debtor/creditor positions and performance against budget.

Required profile

• Experienced finance professional with a commercial mindset.
• Proactive, able to interpret numbers, identify trends and challenge assumptions.
• Comfortable working closely with business owners and external accountants.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet month‑end deadlines.
