About the role
We are looking for an experienced Optical Dispenser to join our Durban‑based optical laboratory. The role involves interpreting prescriptions, advising customers on lens options, and ensuring high‑quality delivery of optical products.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret and verify optical prescriptions accurately.
- Advise customers on suitable lenses, coatings and related optical products.
- Liaise professionally with optometrists and optical practices.
- Check completed jobs for accuracy, quality and timely delivery.
- Identify and resolve prescription and lens‑related issues.
- Collaborate closely with the laboratory team to maintain consistent quality standards.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of optical dispensing experience.
- Strong knowledge of optical lenses, coatings and prescription terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Professional presentation and reliable, team‑oriented attitude.
- Computer literate.
Required skills
- Knowledge of optical lenses and coatings.
- Understanding of optical prescription terminology.
- Computer literacy for optical lab software.
