About the role
We are an established optical practice in Johannesburg South seeking an experienced Optical Assistant. You will be the welcoming face of the practice, guiding patients from the moment they arrive and supporting the optometrist and team.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients throughout their visit, ensuring a friendly and professional experience.
- Perform general optical frontline duties, including patient registration, frame selection assistance, and basic equipment handling.
- Support the optometrist and clinical team with administrative and patient‑care tasks.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an optometry or optical practice.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with patients.
- Approachable, reliable and able to build good rapport with patients and colleagues.
