Operator – Cleaning and Sanitation

About the role

The Operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of pasteurisation equipment, pipelines, tanks and related machinery in a food production environment. This role ensures that cleaning processes are performed safely, efficiently and in compliance with food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of pasteurisers, pipes, tanks and associated equipment.
• Execute Cleaning‑in‑Place (CIP) and manual cleaning procedures following established SOPs.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely, ensuring correct concentrations and usage.
• Inspect equipment before and after cleaning to confirm hygiene standards are met.
• Record and report cleaning activities, chemical consumption and any abnormalities.
• Identify and report faults, leaks or equipment issues to maintenance or supervisors.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations such as HACCP and GMP.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Support production teams to minimise disruption during cleaning schedules.
• Participate in audits and assist with compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Experience with Cleaning‑in‑Place (CIP) processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with HACCP and GMP food safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures.
• Attention to detail for equipment inspection and reporting.
