Operations Manager – Retail (Durban)

About the role

The Operations Manager – Retail will lead the day‑to‑day activities of our Durban branch, ensuring smooth warehouse flow, effective retail operations and high‑quality customer service. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for inventory control, team performance and continuous improvement across all operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse and retail operations, including receiving, storage, stock control, pricing, merchandising and sales.
• Manage collections, deliveries and transport logistics, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods.
• Monitor productivity, implement process improvements and drive achievement of operational and sales targets.
• Lead, train and motivate a diverse team; allocate tasks, provide coaching and conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain high standards of store presentation, cashiering accuracy and overall customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and security regulations; conduct regular inspections and manage emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reporting and support technology‑related systems.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives based on KPI analysis.
