Onboard Doctor

About the role

As the onboard Doctor you will provide medical services to crew members and guests, supporting the Staff Captain and Senior Doctor in all health‑related matters at sea, including illness reporting and outbreak prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the shipboard medical centre’s medication and supply budget.
• Assist in crew safety and personal hygiene orientations.
• Support food‑handling and galley inspections.
• Provide emergency care, including advanced life support (ALS), intubation, suturing and stabilization for medical evacuation.
• Implement quarantine, isolation and sanitation protocols when required.
• Supervise and support nursing staff and paramedics onboard.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education.
• South African or Mexican passport.
• Minimum three years clinical experience in an acute‑care setting after a recognized medical training program.
• At least one year of practical experience in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• Experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of conditions, including minor surgery such as suturing, removal of benign skin lesions, foreign objects, ingrown toenails and simple fracture immobilisation.
• Intermediate to advanced verbal and written English proficiency.
