Nurse Educator – Higher Education & Training

About the role

The Educator presents and facilitates higher education and training programmes for Mediclinic students and employees, enabling them to become competent independent healthcare practitioners. The role includes both classroom and practical staff training.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Higher Education & Training and American Heart Association (AHA) standards.
• Design, develop and assess learning materials and interventions.
• Facilitate theoretical and clinical learning processes.
• Coordinate and administer student‑related processes.

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education (Nurse Educators).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a professional nurse or paramedic.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Mediclinic Training, Emergency Medical Care and Nursing policies and procedures.
• Adult learning principles and instructional design (ADDIE model).
• Familiarity with Kirkpatrick evaluation levels, Bloom’s taxonomy, and SOPs.
• Group facilitation techniques, workplace assessment, mentoring and coaching.
• Training needs analysis, curriculum development and evaluation.
• Understanding of education and training legislation.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
