New Business Specialist

About the role

The New Business Specialist will drive growth for Merchant West Fleet by identifying, acquiring and onboarding new clients for our fleet management solutions. You will work in a fast‑paced sales environment, building relationships with dealers, OEMs and third‑party suppliers while delivering tailored finance proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new leads across direct networks, digital platforms and supplier referrals.
• Present fleet finance solutions to prospective customers and achieve sales targets.
• Prepare and present high‑quality credit proposals.
• Report on prospecting, sales activities and pipeline status.
• Oversee onboarding and implementation for new customers, ensuring seamless integration.
• Provide ongoing fleet management support and reporting to newly acquired clients.
• Identify cross‑sell opportunities and promote additional Merchant West products.
• Maintain strong relationships with dealers, OEMs and third‑party suppliers to generate referrals.

Required profile

• Matric; tertiary qualification in finance or related field is advantageous.
• 5 years experience in fleet management, finance or motor industry.
• 3 years experience in new business development with a proven track record of meeting targets.
• Strong commercial acumen and client relationship management skills.
