Network & PBX Technician (Durban) – R20k‑R23k CTC + standby

About the role

We are looking for a Network & PBX Technician to join our client’s Durban team. The role focuses on configuring, troubleshooting and supporting IP telephony, hosted PBX solutions and the underlying network infrastructure to ensure high‑availability voice and data services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain switches, routers and VLANs across the corporate network.
• Deploy, program and troubleshoot IP phones and 3CX PBX systems.
• Support and maintain hosted and cloud‑based PBX solutions, guaranteeing call quality and uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve VoIP and network issues such as latency, jitter, packet loss and QoS problems.
• Design, document and update network topologies that carry voice and data traffic.
• Perform routine firmware and software updates, system health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Provide first‑ and second‑line technical support to clients and end‑users.
• Program and troubleshoot Yeastar PBX systems when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience as a network technician.
• Proven experience with 3CX PBX installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of hosted/cloud PBX environments and IP telephony.
• Strong knowledge of switches, routers and VLAN configuration.
• Ability to analyse and resolve network performance issues.
• Good communication skills for client‑facing support.
• Willingness to stay current with evolving networking and VoIP technologies.
