National Sales Manager – Distribution

About the role

The National Sales Manager – Distribution is responsible for leading the national sales function across South Africa, driving strategic growth through Regional Sales Managers and their sales teams. The role provides overall commercial leadership, market direction and execution oversight to maximise revenue, profitability and customer retention across all distribution channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the national sales strategy for the distribution business.
• Lead, mentor and manage Regional Sales Managers and provincial sales teams.
• Drive national revenue growth, profitability and market‑share objectives.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with key national accounts.
• Identify expansion opportunities across retail, wholesale, fleet, mining, logistics and commercial sectors.
• Lead major contract negotiations and strategic account engagements.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
• Ensure accurate sales forecasting, performance tracking and reporting across all regions.

Required profile

• Expert knowledge of the South African tyre distribution landscape and related networks.
• Minimum 15–20 years of sales experience, including at least 10 years in the tyre industry.
• At least 7 years in senior sales leadership roles managing multi‑provincial or national teams.
• Proven track record of revenue growth, market expansion and strategic account management.
• Established national network of B2B relationships with tyre, automotive, fleet, logistics and commercial customers.
• B.Com degree or equivalent qualification; Matric is the minimum educational requirement.
