About the role
Amidel is looking for a Murex Quantitative Analyst to join its Johannesburg team. The role involves developing and validating pricing models, performing risk assessments, and integrating quantitative methodologies within the Murex platform.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and validate pricing models for derivatives and structured products, calibrating them with market data.
- Analyse risk metrics from Murex, perform sensitivity and stress testing, and support risk management teams.
- Collaborate with Murex developers to integrate quantitative models, customise the platform and troubleshoot quantitative modules.
- Conduct research on market trends, regulatory changes and new quantitative techniques to improve pricing accuracy.
- Document model design, calibration, validation processes and prepare reports for internal and regulatory stakeholders.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience as a Quantitative Analyst in a financial institution.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related field.
- Strong understanding of derivatives, fixed income and structured products.
- Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Murex pricing and risk modules.
- Python, R, MATLAB.
- SQL.
- Monte Carlo simulation, finite‑difference methods, regression analysis.
