Miner – Underground Mining Operations

About the role

The Miner is responsible for operating stoping panels and development ends during a shift, ensuring safe working practices and meeting production targets. This role requires continuous inspection of panel conditions, resource monitoring, and adherence to safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct shift duties safely and according to standards.
• Inspect and monitor stoping panels, overbreak control, and production meters.
• Record and communicate any deviations from the blasting sequence to the shift boss.
• Complete end‑shift reports and daily reports.
• Receive, document, and manage explosives used in the assigned area.
• Declare the workplace safe before normal mining operations commence each day.
• Perform routine inspections, good housekeeping, and safety declarations as required by MHSA.
• Provide relief duties as a Shift Boss when needed.
