Mid‑Senior Full Stack MERN Engineer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Mid‑Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our high‑performing onsite engineering team in Sandton. You will design, build, and scale modern web applications using the MERN stack while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams and mentoring junior developers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full‑stack applications using MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate them with front‑end components.
• Create efficient MongoDB schemas and optimize database performance.
• Participate in code reviews, ensure code quality, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices.
• Work closely with product, design, and QA teams to deliver features on schedule.

Required profile

• 6+ years of overall software development experience.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with the MERN stack.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript.
• Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB database design.
