About the role
homechoice, a leading South African homeware retailer, is looking for a Mid Weight Designer to bring its brand and campaigns to life across print and digital platforms. You will work closely with Marketing, Merchandise, and Photography teams to create customer‑centric designs that align with the brand identity and enhance the overall experience.
Key responsibilities
- Creatively execute design briefs from marketing.
- Collaborate with merchandise and photography on product and image selection.
- Develop design templates for print material, plan layouts and prepare them for publication.
- Produce high‑quality designs that follow current print design best practices.
- Roll out campaign artwork from key visuals across multiple sizes, platforms and mediums.
- Implement brand CI, marketing directives and themes across publications.
- Ensure continuity of design across all print materials.
- Prepare repro‑ready files.
- Consider user perspective, customer experience and journey in every design.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification in Graphic Design.
- Strong design portfolio.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in print design, focusing on large‑layout projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in digital design.
- Understanding of digital and mobile‑first design best practices.
- Good grasp of UI and UX principles.
- Experience in an online retail or e‑commerce environment is advantageous.
Required skills
- Expert level in Adobe InDesign.
- Competent in Adobe XD.
- Competent in Adobe Photoshop.
