Mid to Senior Software Engineer (.NET / Java)

About the role

Join Dijkstrack as a Software Engineer and help build enterprise‑scale applications for leading organisations across multiple industries. This remote position lets you work from anywhere in South Africa while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code following modern best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers and fellow Developers throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, optimise and improve existing systems to meet performance and reliability goals.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing software with Java or C#/.NET.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with SQL/relational databases.
• Proficiency with Git and modern Agile development workflows.
• 3+ years of experience for mid‑level or 6+ years for senior‑level roles.
• Based in South Africa; a degree in Computer Science or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
