Mid-Senior Legal Counsel

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join our team in Johannesburg. This pivotal role is designed for a legal professional who thrives in a dynamic corporate environment, providing essential legal guidance and ensuring robust governance across all business operations.

Main Missions

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex legal documents and commercial agreements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring efficient processes from inception to execution and renewal.
• Oversee corporate compliance and regulatory affairs to mitigate legal risks and ensure adherence to local laws.
• Provide comprehensive support to corporate secretarial functions, maintaining accurate records and facilitating governance procedures.
• Act as a key legal advisor to internal departments, offering strategic counsel on contractual and regulatory matters.

Candidate Profile

• Holder of an LLB degree and formally admitted to the Bar.
• 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a legal capacity.
• Proven track record of working in an in-house legal department.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract management and high-level legal drafting.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and secretarial duties.
