Mid-Level FMCG Key Account Manager

About the role

Character Group is seeking a hands‑on FMCG Key Account Manager to develop and grow its pharmacy and supermarket retail channels across South Africa. You will act as the primary liaison between the company and major retailers, ensuring smooth product onboarding, replenishment and sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand relationships with pharmacy and supermarket accounts.
• Collaborate with buyers, planners and replenishment teams to drive product availability.
• Oversee retailer listings, product onboarding and stock movement.
• Monitor sell‑through, analyse SKU performance and generate sales reports.
• Coordinate internal teams (Operations, Product Development, Finance) to meet retailer requirements.
• Ensure strong retail execution and follow‑through on agreed actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of FMCG retail account management experience.
• Hands‑on experience with South African retailers such as Clicks, Dis‑Chem, Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay and SPAR.
• Proven ability to manage product listings, forecasting, replenishment and retailer systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in sell‑through reporting.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
