Medical Receptionist – Specialist Practice

About the role

This position supports a busy specialist medical practice in Midstream, Centurion. The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, handling front‑desk duties while providing practical assistance to the doctor and the practice team.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer incoming calls, take accurate messages and respond to WhatsApp queries promptly.
• Manage appointment scheduling, diary coordination and patient follow‑ups.
• File, scan, email and maintain patient records and other documents.
• Keep the reception area tidy and presentable.
• Monitor and order office and practice supplies as needed.
• Provide personal assistant support to the doctor, including diary management and correspondence preparation.
• Assist with errands and tasks that require a reliable vehicle.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous experience in reception, administration, customer service or personal assistance is advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a medical practice and familiarity with GoodX software are advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel locally for practice‑related tasks.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a specialist environment.
