Medical Accounts Clerk – Part-time (Half-day)

About the role

Our client, a specialist gynaecology practice in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg, is looking for a part-time Medical Accounts Clerk. Working Monday to Friday, 08:00‑13:00, you will report to the Practice Manager and support the practice’s financial and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process and manage patient accounts and statements.
• Submit medical aid claims using Vericlaim or the practice’s management system and follow up on rejected or unpaid claims.
• Handle account‑related queries from patients and medical aids, and assist with the collection of outstanding balances.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments as required.
• Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the practice.

Required profile

• Reside close to Northriding, Randburg (Johannesburg area).
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous experience handling medical accounts in a doctor’s or specialist practice.
• Familiarity with Vericlaim or a similar medical practice management system.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and reliable, punctual work ethic.
• Excellent communication in Afrikaans and English.
