Mechanical Engineer – Sales (KZN/Durban & Gauteng)

About the role

Our client, a leading OEM in the mechanical engineering sector, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong sales focus to drive revenue and margin growth across KwaZulu‑Natal and Gauteng. The role blends technical expertise with commercial acumen to create value‑based solutions for strategic customers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver revenue and margin targets in the KZN region while supporting similar objectives in Gauteng.
• Develop and manage customer relationships, generate demand and create pipeline opportunities.
• Provide technical solution selling, acting as an application leader for rotating and engineered components.
• Plan accounts, forecast sales and maintain accurate pipeline data using CRM tools.
• Develop channel and distributor partnerships and travel up to 70% of the time within the territory.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or a related diploma.
• 5‑8 years of technical or solutions sales experience in industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s licence (no endorsements) and willingness to travel extensively.
• Customer‑focused mindset with strong commercial judgment and collaboration skills.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from R55 000 to R70 000 per month, dependent on experience.
