Mechanical Engineer – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

Scott Bader is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan, coordinate and supervise mechanical and process engineering activities across its manufacturing plant and service equipment. You will ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of assets, helping to maximise performance and minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise plant reliability and ensure business continuity.
• Lead mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (E&I) projects, including equipment upgrades, process improvements and capital investment projects.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability and production performance.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, and keep site documentation, procedures and engineering records up to date.
• Provide technical leadership, manage contractors, develop colleagues and participate in on‑call rota for engineering support.

Required profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng) or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, design, maintenance and relevant regulations, preferably in hazardous area environments.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive, quality‑focused team player who is adaptable, self‑motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
