Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast‑moving engineering and manufacturing team in Gauteng. You will play a key part in developing innovative mechanical solutions and supporting product development from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 3‑D models and 2‑D drawings for custom‑designed components.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure design documentation meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to optimise designs for cost‑effective production.
• Participate in design reviews, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanical design environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk.
• Proficiency with Inventor.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
