Marketing Manager

About the role

Ozow, a leading fintech company in South Africa, is looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to join its innovative team in Cape Town. The role works closely with the Head of Marketing to shape and execute the overall marketing strategy, with a strong focus on content and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor any direct reports, setting clear performance expectations and fostering growth.
• Interpret and contribute to the broader marketing strategy as a trusted advisor to the Head of Marketing.
• Own the end‑to‑end content strategy, ensuring depth of research, technical accuracy and insightful commentary.
• Drive operational efficiency by managing brief intake, studio workflows and balancing workload with capacity.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery risks and manage relationships with external partners such as PR, performance‑marketing agencies and out‑of‑home media suppliers.
• Translate strategic objectives into detailed briefs, support go‑to‑market plans and lead large‑scale out‑of‑home and digital campaigns.
• Analyse funnel and campaign performance data to optimise marketing impact.
• Explore new work‑management and AI tools to improve brief intake, tracking and workflow optimisation.

Required profile

• Robust marketing background, preferably within fintech or a closely related industry.
• Solid understanding of B2B marketing principles.
• Relevant marketing qualification (degree or equivalent).
• Proven experience owning and executing a comprehensive content strategy.
• Ability to translate high‑level marketing strategies into actionable plans.
• Experience managing multiple external agencies across different disciplines.
• Exceptional writing skills and strong editorial judgement.
• Prior line‑management or supervisory experience.
• Experience leading large‑scale integrated campaigns, including out‑of‑home advertising.
