Marketing Executive - Durban

About the role

Our client in Durban seeks a commercially‑minded Marketing Executive to lead brand strategy across the group. The role combines hands‑on leadership with a focus on turning bold ideas into measurable results.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a high‑performing Marketing Department, setting direction and communicating strategy.
• Own advertising, CSI and campaign planning, including monthly communication of events.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers for handbill costing and newspaper advertising.
• Drive social media and website marketing – content creation, scheduling and online reputation management.
• Champion customer service quality through store visits and ensure Brand Bible compliance.
• Measure and report on campaign performance, turning data into insight for the wider business.
• Manage the marketing budget, allocating resources against goals and priorities.
• Support, mentor and motivate a team of specialists across brand, design and marketing coordination.

Required profile

• BCom Marketing or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years of experience in a marketing management role.
• Proven budget management and commercial judgement.
• Strong analytical ability, comfortable forecasting trends and troubleshooting under‑performing campaigns.
• Excellent communication and pitching skills, confident presenting to senior leadership.
• Creative mindset paired with solid business acumen and leadership skills.
