Manager – Spatial Planning & Land Use Management

About the role

The Gamagara Local Municipality is seeking a Manager for Spatial Planning & Land Use Management to lead urban design, land‑use and GIS initiatives within the Development and Town Planning department.

Key responsibilities

• Define short‑term objectives for urban design, land‑use schemes, spatial development and GIS projects.
• Prepare and control capital and operating budgets, approve project expenditures and manage contracts and tenders.
• Ensure compliance with national building regulations, town planning schemes and related legislation.
• Provide guidance on building and zoning applications and monitor performance indicators for infrastructure planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Town Planning or equivalent.
• Minimum three years supervisory experience in municipal planning.
• Registration with SACPLAN is an advantage.
• Code B driving licence and high integrity.
