Manager: Impairment, Credit & Regulatory Reporting

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a senior professional to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of impairment, IFRS 9, capital analytics, stress testing, credit and regulatory reporting. The manager translates strategic direction into concrete implementation plans, analytical deliverables and controlled reporting processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full impairment production process, including expected credit loss calculations, staging assessments and management overlays.
• Develop, recalibrate and monitor PD, EAD, LGD, macro‑economic and loan valuation models.
• Review and challenge model outputs, investigate material movements and escalate significant issues.
• Ensure all methodologies comply with IFRS 9, internal policies and governance standards.
• Manage delivery of impairment forecasts, portfolio analytics and risk‑appetite reporting for business planning.
• Monitor portfolio performance against risk‑appetite measures such as credit losses, NPL ratios and coverage levels.
• Lead, develop and allocate work for a team of credit analysts, resolving risks and reporting issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit risk, impairment accounting and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Leadership experience managing specialist and general credit analysts.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior stakeholders and governance forums.
