Manager Assessment – Nursing Education and Regulation

About the role

The South African Nursing Council is seeking a Manager Assessment to lead its assessment and examination functions. This senior position will support the Council’s strategic objectives in nursing education, training and practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines for the Assessment Section.
• Manage assessment and examination processes, ensuring integrity of registration and examination systems.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation and risk mitigation for the Assessment Section.
• Provide input to legislative drafting, policy development and quality management systems.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and support Education and Council committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing and additional qualification in Nursing Education.
• Registered Assessor and Moderator with at least 5 years nursing practice and 2 years management experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a Nurse Educator in a college or university environment.
• Valid Annual Nursing Practice Certificate and Driver’s Licence.
