Management Accountant – Retail Operations Hub

About the role

The Accountant III is responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with audit standards. This role also mentors junior accountants and supports strategic finance initiatives within the Retail Operations Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Provide central governance across store operational cost portfolios and monitor cost trends to identify inefficiencies.
• Analyse past financial performance, budgets and forecasts to inform operational and strategic decisions.
• Develop, manage and monitor Hub budgets, cost centre forecasts and financial processes such as chargebacks and allocations.
• Partner with Finance and operational teams to improve budgeting accuracy and cost forecasting for store services.
• Support senior managers in preparing business cases, financial models and strategic recommendations.

Required profile

• BCom or Honours Degree in Financial/Management Accounting.
• 5+ years post‑qualification experience in financial management, reporting or analysis.
• CIMA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP.
• Proficiency in Coupa (Non‑Merchandise Procurement tool).
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for reporting and visualisation.
