Management Accountant

About the role

Our client is seeking an Operational Management Accountant to join their finance team in Pretoria. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional with 1–4 years' experience who enjoys working closely with operations, inventory, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in stock control, stock counts, cost management, and financial administration within a fast‑paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and oversee regular stock counts and stock reconciliations.
• Investigate and report on stock variances.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control processes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and reports.
• Assist with month‑end procedures and reconciliations.
• Analyse costs, margins, and operational performance.
• Process journals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure accurate financial records and reporting.
• Work closely with operational management to improve controls and efficiencies.

Required profile

• Relevant Accounting qualification (Diploma, Degree, BCom or similar).
• Completed SAIPA articles advantageous.
• 1–4 years' relevant accounting experience.
• Experience within hospitality, food service, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or a similar stock‑driven environment.
• Experience working on the Pilot system is essential.
• Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with the Pilot system.
