Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure that all industrial equipment and machinery in Bravo Brands' bedding manufacturing plant operate at peak efficiency. The role focuses on minimizing production downtime while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns on the factory floor and open/close job cards.
• Record daily and monthly downtime statistics accurately.
• Maintain up‑to‑date repair and maintenance files for all machinery.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programmes.
• Inspect forklifts and compressors daily.
• Create and manage health & safety documentation such as hot‑work permits and equipment registers.
• Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues, liaising with contracted service providers when needed.
• Inspect building structures and coordinate external maintenance services.
• Order quality spare parts and building materials, monitor critical stock levels, and conduct quarterly stock counts.
• Ensure workshop housekeeping complies with OHSA and fire regulations.
• Participate in production and health & safety meetings.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4; tertiary qualification or trade test is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience in clothing or textile manufacturing.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and project execution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
