Maintenance Technician – Instrumentation & Electrical

About the role

A pharmaceutical manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician: Instrumentation and Electrical to support GMP‑compliant production by ensuring maximum uptime of process utility services.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure continuous operation of plant equipment and utility services supporting GMP‑compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Perform routine checks, preventive maintenance and scheduled calibrations of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, carry out repairs or coordinate third‑party contractors, and document incident reports.
• Maintain records, control spare stock and guarantee zero stock outages.
• Provide first‑line training, practical demonstrations to operators, and support machine start‑ups and shutdowns.
• Lead or support small‑scale projects, CAPEX expansions and continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• N6 or S4 qualification in electrical/instrumentation engineering or a B‑Tech degree with trade test in at least two of electrical, instrumentation, electromechanics.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a process or manufacturing environment with GMP exposure.
• Proven experience with PLC programming, fault finding and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of SAP PM, OSH Act electrical safety, refrigeration/HVAC and ability to read P&ID drawings.
