Maintenance Supervisor – Resort & Camp

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all guest accommodation, public facilities, staff areas and infrastructure at Mantuma Camp within the uMkhuze Game Reserve are safe, functional and presented to the highest hospitality standards. This hands‑on role requires a multi‑skilled individual capable of responding quickly to maintenance requests and carrying out preventative programmes in a remote bush environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, offices and staff facilities.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to scheduled programmes and identify potential issues before they affect operations.
• Carry out plumbing repairs (taps, toilets, pipes, drains, water systems).
• Execute basic electrical repairs (lighting, switches, sockets, fittings within competency limits).
• Perform carpentry work (doors, windows, locks, furniture, cabinetry) and general building repairs such as painting, tiling and plastering.
• Maintain generators, pumps, boreholes, geysers, water reticulation, air‑conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Report major equipment failures that require specialist contractors.
• Keep plant rooms, maintenance areas and outdoor pathways clean, organised and compliant.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental responsibility.
• Experience working in remote or bush environments is an advantage.
