Maintenance Supervisor – Manufacturing

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team in a manufacturing environment, ensuring that all plant, infrastructure and equipment are kept in optimal condition. This role focuses on minimizing downtime through effective reactive, predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate first‑line maintenance activities to prevent equipment downtime.
• Raise and approve job cards, ensuring required work permits (hot work, vessel entry, elevated work) are obtained.
• Lead fault analysis using Root Cause Analysis techniques such as 5 Why and 8D.
• Verify that maintenance work is completed safely and to quality standards.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation and internal procedures.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external customers, representing the company in stakeholder meetings.
• Oversee staff performance agreements, conduct quarterly appraisals and coordinate training and development.
• Contribute to budgeting, monitor expenditures and report financial deviations.

Required profile

• Technical qualification relevant to maintenance or engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing setting, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to manage a team and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
